Climate and Sustainability

At St Oswald’s C of E Primary School, we are committed to educating our pupils about environmental concerns and the importance of living sustainably. Also, it is our responsibility to look after the wonderful world that has been created.

Through our curriculum and additional provision, children explore not just their role in helping the environment but in how they can shape their community and the world.

Climate change is the biggest challenge facing our children. By educating young people, we can grow a generation who are environmentally conscious with the knowledge and skills needed to build sustainable ways of living and adapt to the challenges ahead.

Eco Team

We have an Eco committee of children whose responsibility it is to ensure actions are taken to improve the beautiful world. These children take part in a weekly gardening club where they grow and harvest their own fruits and vegetables, create bug hotels and look after the school grounds/gardens. Also, they have created a range of posters to encourage recycling and turning the lights and taps off.
